In Foundation Stage One this week, we have been looking at colours and finding out what happens when we mix them together. We used powder paints (blue, red and white) to make new colours as well as different shades of the same colour.
Can you remember how to make colours lighter and darker?
What happened when we mixed the blue and the red paints together?
Here are some of you finding out the answers to these questions:

Look at the different shades of blue I have made! |

Lots of different shades here. I can also see pink and purple. How did you do that? |
|
We had to mix the paint in the same order each time: Water, sponge,
powder, pallette. The left to right sequence will also help us when we
learn to write. | | | |
Did you enjoy our paint mixing focus this week? It doesn't have to be just powder paints that you use for mixing colours. Have a try at mixing colours using the poster paints and block paints too. See how many different colours you can make.
Here's a colour mixing game for you to play. Just click on the picture below to take you to the game. You might need a grown up to help you to select 'Mixing Room' once you're inside the colour mix cottage.
